Biography

      For me it’s all about balance; finding or engineering a moment where life, art, and craft meet in a way that creates something refreshing, real , and new.

I find what I am looking for is a synthesis of creativity, craft, lighting and the story of the subject and a flash of a moment. Whether I am shooting food or people the same thing is true you are looking for that instant when everything coalesces into a balance of Ah Ha!   

    Engaging the idea of balance stretches into my life, filling it with a balance of work and play, time with my son Darby Jack , teaching and playing Northern Shaolin Kung-Fu, and T’ai Chi,  playing music, reading, and being in the outdoors.  These are the ideas I bring to my work with my clients, looking at the whole picture, my creativity, the client’s vision, the subject’s story, and infusing the images I take with life.
